Carolynne & Dave : Cumbria
My whole family is from Cumbria so for me it was especially great to get to travel north to do a job I love, whilst visiting my relatives, the people I love.
I first met Carolynne and Dave at their local pub in Ramsbottom. The pub had a lot of characteristics of Dave and Carolynne and their wedding to come. Friendly, inviting, relaxing and warm. So it was a great place to understand the couple and what to expect from their day. We hatched a plan to shoot an Engagement shoot at a nearby reservoir. It was a beautiful shoot immersed in the English countryside.
Carolynne is very gentle, kind, and warm. Dave is gentle kind and warm. Their wedding, as you might imagine, was gentle, kind, and warm just like their local! But that’s an understatement. The celebration was so much more. What they ignite in each other, and amongst their friends and family, is exponential, and a treasure to watch and photograph. It was like a wildfire of warmth and kindness, filling our hearts and frames.
Now, writing about “Carolynn & Dave” actually feels somewhat incomplete. “Carolynne, Dave & Holly” is more like it. Their beautiful dog was a part of it all. She even bore the rings.
The whole day took place at Blencowe Hall in Penrith, Cumbria. A beautiful renovated 14th-century castle with a remarkable three-story glass wall where the original wall had parted. Secret stairwells and old outhouses are all brought together with a traditional square cobbled courtyard.
The day started with all most all the guests already in the castle the bridesmaids on one side the groomsmen on the other. With the odd scuttering back and forth to give and receive gifts, letters and missing shoes! After a beautiful and emotional ceremony, everyone had drinks on the terrace as the Cumbrian weather held out just long enough to get some beautiful shots in the garden. This was followed by the most intimate banquet under glittering candlelight overlooking the garden and Cumbrian fells beyond. The love in this room was astounding and just awesome to witness and capture.
Thank you to my good friend, Kerry, at 2DucksGallery for helping me out on this one!
